I want to go to bed!

I got up at 2:45 this morning, so I could watch the wedding cerimonies. I had fun, and it was definitely worth getting up for, but now I want to go to bed! I like long weddings, and this one was pretty long. I don’t think it’s very cool to invite everyone there for 15-20 minutes, and then have everyone leave, and go somewhere else for 4-5 hours. I’ve definitely been to a few weddings like that. I’ve also been to a couple that were worth going to, because they were nice and long. I think I’ll wait, and go to bed at about 9, instead of going to bed at 8 like I planned. I don’t really want to get up at 4 tomorrow morning, (or 3, if I only get 7 hours of sleep.) Although I have a feeling I might sleep longer.

Randomness.

Acording to blogger, I’m on my 404th post. OK, it doesn’t look that good that way, but I’ve posted 404 times! 404 errors are fun, but they aren’t fun when the web page I’m trying to find is missing. I’m getting up early, like extra early! I’ll be getting up at about 2:45 tomorrow morning, to watch the royal wedding. I like weddings, so this should be fun! I got up at about 3:30 this morning anyway, so why not just get up 45 minutes earlier? Then there’s the shuttle launch tomorrow, it will most definitely be an interesting day!

Answering a question.

At what age did you stop believing in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy? How did your parents tell you? Did you/are you handling it differently with your kids?
I don’t really remember, although I do spacifically remember the conversation about Santa Claus. We were sitting around the dinner table and either my sister or I, (I seemed to remember that it was me for some reason,) asked about Santa. Mom proceeded to tell us that Santa Claus wasn’t real, and that it was just a legend. I don’t have kids yet, and I’m not sure how I’d handle these things if/when I do.
Via that’s my answer
I got a phone message, and an email telling me not to go into the VA tomorrow, I guess they just want to make sure that I don’t come in. I called the paratransit number, and left a message. Then I set to restoring my backup files from last week, (exactly one week ago today.) I haven’t finished, but I got all the documents restored.

Today.

I went to the VA today, and finished the meeting minutes on meeting minutes. I didn’t have any work after that though, so I came home early. This morning, before I left for the VA, I was trying to figure out why the service pack 1 update for windows 7 keeps failing. I’ve tried a lot of things, but it’s still failing, which is really annoying!

Weekly links for 4/25

These are short links, because I didn’t do any prep over the weekend. I have 2 links instead of my usual 4. So, here are some cool links I found a couple weeks ago.

  • elive Video or audio streaming. Yep it does both, but I think you can just do an audio stream if you want.
  • that can be my next tweet
  • This is just for fun, it’s a tweet generator that generates tweets based on your past tweets, and it’s quite random!

Yep, that’s all the links for today. I do most of my prep last minute and didn’t manage to do any last weekend, because I was too busy setting things up and making sure update installations didn’t fail, (like they did last time.)

Catching up, and Easter Sunday.

I’m finally starting to catch up with IComLeavWe, and email, (because I had 60 emails at one point.) I’ve missed at least 3 days of IComLeavWE, but now I’m starting to catch up. Today I went to church with dad, after church we went to breakfast. Normally I have a friend take me to church, but my parent’s have a tradition of going to church with me on Easter. Since we couldn’t do the traditional Easter dinner, (because half of the family is on vacation,) we did Easter breakfast instead.

400th post!

I’m skipping Saturday 7 this week, because well… um… I could probably list 77 reasons why I’m skipping Saturday 7, but I’m not going to do that. But this is my 400th post on the blog! OK, so it was supposed to come yesterday, so it’s a bit delayed! That’s pretty much the way my week has gone, and I’m glad it’s over!

IComLeavWe

This week is IComLeavWe, (international comment leaving week.) I have the link on the blog, but at the rate we’re going, it would probably take me a half hour to find it. But I know it’s there, because I put it there… um… let’s see, Was it yesterday? Now I don’t remember! It actually started today, but since we’re at the point of taking 20 minutes to do much of anything, (I’m not kidding, I’m being very serious!) I’m going to leave my comments tomorrow, (I’ll have to leave extra comments.) I had an interesting day at the VA today, I got to type meeting minutes about… well… taking meeting minutes! They actually had a meeting that was a training about taking meeting minutes! Then I came back here, and waited for my friend and her boyfriend to come over, so I could take them out to lunch. Then we took out the canned air, and my friend’s boyfriend did the deed while I gave instructions from very far away, because I’m not a canned air fan.

Back up.

My friend and I spent most of the day on the phone with HP support. They walked us through lots of things, but in the end, a full restoration had to be done. My friend had to leave to go to her boyfriend’s chiropractor appointment. When they came back, we managed to complete the setup process. I backed up all my files onto my flash drive before we started the recovery. I think we ended up talking to 5 support people, but none of them ever gave up. They all stuck through to the end… or at least the next callback!

Yesterday and today.

I called HP yesterday. I wasn’t prepared, and didn’t have the serial number for my computer, so they couldn’t really do anything. When I bought the computer 6 months ago, (yep, it’s only been 6 months!) I got the warranty that will allow them to come out here and fix things if they break. My trip to the VA today was a shorter one than usual. Once I finished folding the brochures, (because that was the only work they had for me,) I left. I got home about 45 minutes early.
