31 songs day 14

The song for day 14 is Jesus Paid it all. There’s a contemporary version, but I like the arrangement by Fernando Ortega the best.

Lyrics:

I hear the Savior say,
Thy strength indeed is small!
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

For nothing good have I
Where-by Thy grace to claim
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calvary’s Lamb

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

The first day we sang the contemporary version of this song in church, was the day after my grandma and I spent the day doing a system recovery from hard drive failure. The contemporary version has a bridge that goes like this:

Oh praise the one who paid my debt, and raised this life up from the dead.

Now whenever I hear this song, I automatically think of resurrection, both because the contemporary version describes the process, and because of what took place the very first day I was introduced to the song.
