31 Songs day 10.

The song for day 10 is Great is Thy Faithfulness. I really like the Chris Rice version of this song.

Lyrics:

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changes not, Thy compassion’s, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me

Summer and winter, springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father

This is one of the first hymns I learned. I started singing it back in 2013 while following Lavabit, thus it reminds me of that time. Then again I have a whole playlist of songs from around that time. To me, the hymn says that God is faithful and will be there through anything.

31 songs day 6.

OK so yeah I’m behind, that’s definitely the case! I’m going to post 6, 7, and 8 tonight then work on the other 3 tomorrow.
The first song I’m posting about is Break Every Chain. The version I found on Youtube is by Jesus Culture, but I have one from like 2011 that’s by various artists, (I believe it’s mostly United Pursuit.)

Lyrics:

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

(There is power)
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
To break every chain
To break every chain

To break every chain
To break every chain
Break every chain

All sufficient sacrifice
So freely given
Such a price
Bought our redemption
Heaven’s gates swing wide

We believe!

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

(There is power)
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

There is power, power
Wonder working power
In His Name
We believe, we believe
We believe

There’s an army rising up
There’s an army rising up
There’s an army rising up

To break every chain
To break every chain
To break every chain

There’s an army rising up
There’s an army rising up
There’s an army rising up

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

To break every chain
Break every chain
Break every chain

I first heard this song when we sang it during a worship night at my old church about 5-6 years ago. It used to come up in the prayer group I was a part of all the time. So much so that especially if we were praying for each other, we’d all start singing. Around 2013 or so, a band called Digital Age came out with a version that was on the radio. I never liked that one because I thought it was too short, and there was way too much editing done.

Songs for worship day 3.

Tonight I’m going to post one of the songs I first sang when I started going to church back in 2007-2008. The song is Mighty to Save by Hillsong as they were known then. I think they’re just called United now if I’m not mistaken.

Lyrics:

Everyone needs compassion
A love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me

Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations

[Chorus:]
Saviour, he can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever Author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again

I give my life to follow
Everything that I believe in
Now I surrender

[Chorus]

Shine your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing for the glory of the risen king Jesus [2x]

[Chorus x2]

Shine your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing for the glory of the risen king Jesus [6x]

I started attending church in February 2007. This is one of the first songs I remember memorizing and being able to sing. before that I’d only attended church when I was able to go with someone or sporadically as a kid. Unfortunately I had to wait until I moved out of my parents house to go to church. I may miss a few Sundays here and there but I haven’t stopped since then.
